I ended 2017 and began 2018 with a hellatious bout of influenza B, bronchitis, and asthma. Actually spent New Year's Eve in Triemlispital during my 4 day stay in isolation ( which, in Switzerland, is strangely like staying in a spa ).
Time for a total "time out", which has resulted in a bit of a reboot for my life going forward.
As I approach my 60th birthday ( April 5th 2018 ) and celebrate my 20th anniversary in the chorus Opernhaus Zürich ( Feb 01 2018 ), I find I need to prepare this next chapter of life as I approach retirement and prepare for life after 63/65.
I hope to augment my busy schedule at Opernhaus Zürich with more free lance work as a soloist ( appearing with orchestras, choirs, and presenting my own recitals ), ensemble member ( Tenors First, swiss pocket opera, in churches, and as a zuzüger for choruses as needed ), and doing related work ( creating shows, directing, choreographing, teaching ) that will keep me engaged after retirement.
